Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Routedex ("the app") is made by Yunpeng Chen (chirpet.com). This policy explains what the app does with your data. In short: we don't collect any.
Data stored on your device
- Trips and progress. When you start a drive, the app uses your location until you end it, to work out which numbered roads you drove. The track, the stretches you've driven, badges and settings are saved only on your device. They are not sent to us or anyone else.
- Sign photos. Photos you take or pick are stored in the app's folder on your device. Text recognition runs on the device.
- GPX files you import are read on the device.
Network requests
- Wikipedia. On a route page the app asks Wikipedia (Wikimedia Foundation) for the summary of that route's article. The request contains the article title and your language, not your location or any identifier. See the Wikimedia privacy policy.
- Maps. The base map is Apple Maps, subject to Apple's privacy policy.
- Route data updates may be downloaded from routedex.chirpet.com. These are plain file downloads with no identifiers.
What we don't do
No account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no selling of data. The app contains no third-party SDKs.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone.
